The Institution in terms of Article 30 of the Constitution of India. The Institution, originally named as Tufanganj College of Education (D.Ed & B.Ed), was founded in 2017. It was established by the joint effort of the Tufanganj College og Education (D.Ed & B.Ed). The legal heirs of BMS and LMS pertaining to this institution are Bengal Baptist Union and Church of North India respectively.
Mission and Objectives
Mission of Tufanganj College of Education is to strengthen the cognitive as well as psychomotor knowledge base for promoting education for peace and sustainable development. The followings are the objectives of this institution:
- ICT-Pedagogy Integration: to equip teacher educators as well as to be teachers educators with competencies to use ICT to transform education practices and have a say in the success of Digital India.
- Inclusive Education.
- Capacity building and connecting knowledge communities.
- To harness the potential of women and girls through education in breaking through the economic and cultural barriers.
- Strive for best advances in ensuring access to quality education.
- To create teachers of tomorrow with the transformative knowledge of Indian tradition and usher a new era of teacher education focusing upon the integral development of teachers.
- To prepare competent, caring, reflective practitioners and advocate for children and youth, developed caring learning environments, initiate and respond creatively to change, value advice for others and teach boldly in a changing world through ethics of care and critical reflection.
- To prepare competent teacher candidates in diversity creativity leadership, and social transformation.
- To guide future teachers towards exemplifying based practices in the educational field.
